Broken

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It's called "We Are Broken" by Paramore. They aren't a "christian" band, but quite a few of their songs have some christian messages. The first time I heard this song I was on my way back from Haiti after an incredible trip. It had been on my ipod and I had just not listened to it yet, but as soon as I heard it, I fell in love with it immediately and if you know me, listened to it repeatedly for the next few hours.

I think that it has such a powerful message, and it was one I kept coming back to this week. This week was a tough one. It was one in which I constantly felt disappointed in myself, and under attack. I lost my temper, didn't hold my tongue when I knew I should, reacted without thinking...you know the usual word vomit (sorry..that's kinda gross). I found myself constantly coming back and saying who was that? And falling back on my knees. Someone I really respect once said, "you can't slip and fall when you're on your knees". My problem this week was that I kept getting up.

I'm so thankful that He does keep me safe inside His arms like towers like the song says. And that when I fall His arms are there to steady me. What a pitiful example I am of Him, Praise Jesus for Grace. Being Broken is exactly where I need to be. It's where there is more of Him and less of me that it is truly as it should be.

Thank you Lord for your never ending grace and mercy. Thank you for unconditionally loving a sinner like me. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for giving me the gift of being your light unto this broken and darkened world. I pray that You will shine through me, that it will be You that they see. I pray that there will always be less of me and more of You. Forgive me. Thank you Precious Jesus. In Your Name, Amen.

Cool song! I love how music can help with so many emotions - good and bad - that we find in ourselves through life. No matter what comes out of your mouth in this coming week, just remember that you are a child of God and He is in you! You might slip and fall sometimes but He puts your brothers and sisters around you to help you up! ;) I'm right here sister! I'm here to help you up when you need it!

I love the song. Music can be so powerful to where we are at.

I love that Jesus ALWAYS picks us up when we fall.

I slip a lot with my kids and I have to ask for help a lot.

Love you! We are going to continue to fall as long as we are on this earth but Jesus is ALWAYS there!!!
